Member Newsletter - Spring 2005

Dear Member,

Thank you for your recent registration with your hikes.  Since our launch in March 2005, we have had nearly 100 hikers join our membership and add over 75 hikes to our database.  Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we have already made some changes at the site based on your suggestions.  (ie. you are now able to change both your password and user name from your member profile.)  Any other feedback can be submitted via this link.  Your suggestions are always welcome.

This newsletter marks our first quarterly update and I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know what changes are in store for the remainder of 2005:

- a search process by state, trail difficulty, trail distance, or trail rating

- a “new additions” button to identify new hikes that are added at your hikes

- a method to track the redeemed points from your member profile

- a member status designation based on points:  Member, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum

- the removal of the “age’ and “marital status” information on your member profile

- default photos (if there are none available for your hike)

- an opt-in/opt-out option for the newsletter

As the technology and development funds permit, we will continue to improve the features of the site to make it as user-friendly and useful as possible.  Also, we plan to highlight a member hike and trip report each quarter.  Oshow gets the nod for the Spring 2005 newsletter with his trip to Three Rivers Canyon in the White Mountain Wilderness of New Mexico.  Read about it at this link:

New members, I look forward to reading more about your hikes in the coming months.  Don’t forget to share some details in your member profile; or, at least tell us the City/State or Province you call home.

Best Wishes,
